The Winning photographer comments:

My image "Fitting In" is a comment on today's society and the many youth, particularly young girls who are trying to 'fit in' to the crowd and what they believe are social norms.  Being pulled by people to look, think and act a certain way rather than being unique individuals and standing out from the crowd.  The negative space on the right of the image is the space this young girl is being dragged away from, her space, which she should be filling with her uniqueness, with the arms holding up pieces and pulling her to 'fit in' with societies and her peers' expectations.
